This New Year, a special documentary captures world-renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano as he creates a monumental fusuma (sliding door) painting for the sacred spaces of Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto. The program follows Amano’s creative journey as he works closely with shrine priests to express the world of ancient Japanese deities in a bold new artistic form, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation.

The film also explores the rich history of Fushimi Inari Taisha—from the iconic vermilion Senbon Torii gates and symbolic fox statues to its mysterious power spots and enduring global appeal.
