The world’s largest exhibition of Yoshitaka Amano—acclaimed artist and visual architect behind Final Fantasy—has opened at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Titled Além da Fantasia (Beyond Fantasy), the exhibition brings together 218 original works, including paintings, illustrations, objects, and an immersive art space that invites visitors into Amano’s visionary universe.
Curated by Antonio Curti, the exhibition highlights the ethereal blend of Japanese tradition, Art Nouveau, surrealism, and pop art that defines Amano’s distinctive style. Many of the works are being shown to the public for the first time, offering both longtime admirers and new audiences a rare opportunity to experience the full scope of his creative journey.
Amano’s work is celebrated worldwide for its profound influence on visual culture, particularly through his iconic character and world designs for the Final Fantasy series, which have shaped modern fantasy aesthetics since the late 1980s.
Following its run in Belo Horizonte, Além da Fantasia will travel to CCBB venues in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília, extending the exhibition to audiences across Brazil.
