Yoshitaka Amano had an incredible week at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, meeting fans from around the world and celebrating art, storytelling, and the future of ZAN.
The event began with the Opening Ceremony, where Amano participated in the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. He also had the honor of painting the eye on the traditional Daruma, a Japanese symbol of perseverance and good fortune.
During the Yoshitaka Amano panel, Yoshitaka Amano premiered the pilot film for ZAN, his upcoming original dark fantasy animation project, which is 100% hand-drawn made. He was joined by acclaimed creators Ryosuke Takahashi, Tooru Yoshida, and Tatsuyoshi Matsumoto, who discussed the creative vision and development of the project.
Representatives from Dark Horse Comics, Michael Gombos and Carl Horn, also introduced the newly released ZAN art book edition, giving fans an exclusive look at the expanding world of ZAN.
Throughout the weekend, fans gathered for the Autograph Sessions, where they had the opportunity to meet Amano in person and receive signed artwork.
Visitors also enjoyed the Amano Gallery, featuring a special selection of Yoshitaka Amano's original artworks, celebrating his decades-long career and artistic legacy.
