Yoshitaka Amano: Beyond Fantasy will open at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro on April 22, 2026, and run through June 22, 2026.
The exhibition presents a major survey of Yoshitaka Amano’s career, featuring more than 200 original works, including paintings, illustrations, sketches, and objects from across his decades-long body of work. Visitors will be able to explore Amano’s iconic creations spanning animation, fantasy, games, and contemporary art, including works connected to Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, Angel’s Egg, Candy Girl, and more.
The exhibition is organized into thematic sections and includes an immersive room created in collaboration with AYA Studio, allowing visitors to step into Amano’s dreamlike world through large-scale projections and spatial design. The exhibition highlights the delicate linework, rich imagination, and unique visual language that have made Amano one of the most influential Japanese artists of his generation.
Held at the historic CCBB Rio de Janeiro, the exhibition offers Brazilian audiences a rare opportunity to experience Amano’s original works in person and journey “beyond fantasy” into the artist’s extraordinary universe.
